MYTH - Promise
Prometheus was a descendant of the first Titans, son of Iapetus and Cl?mene.
His name means the Greek foresight, that he sees before.
It was twin of Epimetheus, one that sees later.
His two other brothers, Atlas and Men?cio, led the revolt of the Titans, which resulted in a 10-year war against God. Prometheus took a cautious attitude of neutrality, to realize that the victory would be of Zeus.
There is, then, alongside the Olympic and Epimetheus persuaded to accompany him. As a reward earned the right to go and come to Olympus. But deep down, felt a great resentment against the destructive of their race. Trying to avenge the gods, favoring men when he could.
According to some versions, Prometheus is considered the creator of the first man, who molded in clay and put him a spark of divine fire, the soul.

The next day, the eagle and the consumed their suffering did not end.
Thirty years, or thirty centuries, it passed until Hercules, in fulfillment of one of his Twelve Tasks, declined to ?nferos to face C?rbero, the dog, and freed Prometheus.
As Hades demanded another soul to occupy its place, the hero was recalled Quiron, his old master, and asked for God to allow the exchange, Quiron rid of their pain and returning to the promised freedom.
